This week’s EAG will provide the platform for the European premiere of the fantasy role playing-inspired title Dungeons & Dragons, after a special air-freight service whisks it to London straight from the factory in Chicago, Illinois. And eagerly waiting to display them to the European market will be Electrocoin.

Dungeons and Dragons: The Tyrant’s Eye was designed and released by Chicago-based manufacturer Stern to mark the 50th anniversary of the iconic fantasy role playing-game franchise, which rose to prominence (not without causing some panic) in the 1980s.

Despite the machine only just becoming available in the United States, Electrocoin have organised air-freight of two examples of the new title, one each of both the Pro and Premium editions, specially for the show. The game will exhibit alongside a number of other licensed Stern pinballs from the Electrocoin inventory, such as John Wick, Venom and Foo Fighters.

First released in 1974, the Dungeons & Dragons IP has gone from strength to strength: claiming a recent blockbuster movie, countless spin-off video game titles and an active player-base of around 15 million in North America alone. The Tyrant’s Eye ships with Stern’s built-in Insider Connected digital platform, which allows players to interact with the game and other players across the world, and also allows easy code and system updates to be applied remotely.

“We are very excited to be able to launch Sterns latest pinball on our stand at EAG,” Electrocoin S&M manager John A Stergides told Coinslot earlier this week. “It’s a huge license and there is already a big excitement and anticipation from players to try the game.”
