Funland London in Bloomsbury’s Brunswick Centre welcomed a visitor from children’s charity Make-A-Wish on 12 March. (Funland 2025)

The foundation, which fulfils the wishes of seriously ill young people, enabled Matthew to visit the arcade from Antrim, Northern Ireland.

“Today, we had the incredible honour of having Matthew from Make-A-Wish visit us,” said a spokesperson. “We had an amazing time playing games together and sharing some unforgettable moments.”

“Thank you, Matthew, for brightening our day – your joy is truly contagious and well done for winning a Deadpool Plushie today.”

As well as Make-A-Wish, Funland also supports the work of Variety via the Bacta Charitable Trust, as well as other local organisations.

“We also have ties with Great Ormond Street and Coram’s Fields,” CEO Gabi Stergides told Time Out in a feature last year. “Once every couple of weeks the nurses will bring down a kid or two who needs a mental boost. We’ll give them a private party at Funland.
