On 23 November, bacta will host its 2017 convention, and Annual General Meeting at The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster with talks from the trade body’s members as well as a range of guest speakers including politicians and industry regulators.

The day kicks off with a welcome from vice-president James Miller and CEO John White, who are followed by Carolyn Harris MP, chair of the APPG on FOBTs, who will talk about the future of the B2 machine from her parliamentary perspective.

Indeed, “The Future” is the central theme of this year’s convention, with UKinbound CEO Deirdre Wells OBE discussing the future of UK tourism and the Gambling Commission’s Tim Miller speaking on a topic titled “Back to the Future – From Seaside to Strategy”.

Next on the agenda for the morning sessions is an array of 15 minute talks covering Virtual Reality, UK politics, the gambling industry and Payment Systems, with speakers from Interel, Regulus Partners, and Emerging Payments leading the presentations.

There will then be a panel hosted by White and bacta president Gabi Stergides, who will close out the morning session with a final address.

The afternoon session – for bacta members only – will take a more formal approach with elections for the trade body’s various positions, however the EAG Expo will also be discussed, as well as “The Future of Europe”, with former president and current president of Euromat, Jason Frost, providing a continental perspective.

Bacta’s four divisions will also provide insight into their respective fields before finally the election results are revealed, and closing remarks are given by White and Stergides.
