In time for the Tuesday 23 January deadline, Bacta has submitted its arguments and evidence regarding changes to stakes and prizes throughout the gaming industry.

Following the closure of the deadline at 3pm, president of Bacta Gabi Sterigides spoke about how it is time for the government to “step up to the plate” on B2 machines.

“Today marks a significant moment in the future of our industry,” he explained. “I don’t think we could have done any more to make the case for changes to FOBT maximum stakes, nor for the modest increases in stakes and prizes our sector needs. Work is ongoing both as we move towards the conclusion of this Review and indeed to Reviews to come. We are in the hands of politicians at a Department which sponsors the leisure and amusement sector, the tourism sector and heritage sector alongside gambling. We need them to now step up to the plate, reduce the stake on FOBTs to £2 and support investment in a sector which sustains coastal communities across the country. There are no alternatives.”
