Long-serving Electrocoin is set to bring its best amusement and gaming offering to ICE’s (2025) first Spanish show

One of ICE’s longest-serving exhibitors will be making the trip to Spain looking to continue its longstanding relationship with the show.

UK-based distributor Electrocoin has been with the expo since the very beginning, with sales and marketing manager John A Stergides saying that the amusement and gaming company has “always been a firm advocate” of the show.

It will bring with it a wide range of solutions that will focus on the amusement side of the industry – often attracting plenty of visitors thanks to its fun offering as opposed to the rest of the show.

Stergides said: “It’s an opportunity to show our range of products and being in Barcelona is no different for us. We’ll see what it brings and continue to meet people that we know and new customers as well.

“My father was one of the first exhibitors and is probably the longest-serving, going back to the days of the Olympia and Earls Court; we’ve always been a firm advocate.”

Despite being mainly focused on the land-based gaming and igaming sectors, Stergides believes that ICE is a valuable show for Electrocoin and treats it as such, with both himself, his father and his brother making the trip to Barcelona, along with other members of the team. Stergides said: “It is more gaming related, but people are always looking at different ideas. At last year’s ICE show we sold Skill Shooters to casinos. They want to keep players in their venues playing. We’ve had Skill Cut Winners that we’ve sold to similar venues because they want to expand their entertainment offering – just having slot machines and a chair is not enough.

“Look at Las Vegas, it’s all about entertainment. We’ll be taking similar games to what we took to EAG, but on a smaller scale because we have a smaller stand there.”

One of the standout products on the Electrocoin booth will no doubt be Konami’s Dance Dance Revolution A20 plus, which always draws a crowd wherever it goes. Expect to see lines forming as attendees look to relive their youth and dance along to one of 800 songs on offer. The game features new songs such as ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ by Ariana Grande and ‘Nothing But The Beat’ by David Guetta. It features an updated cabinet design which houses a 42ins screen and includes both tutorial and offline modes to allow it to work for a range of operators. Stergides says that Barcelona will be the first time that this version of DDR has been shown in Spain.

Alongside that game will be Electrocoin’s other favourites, including Rocket Launch and Magic 7 Key. Rocket Launch is a skill game that challenges players to time the launch of a rocket to win a prize from a rotating turntable. The rocket launches downwards, and if it is perfectly aligned with the clip, will unclip the prize and drop into the collection basket. Magic 7 Key offers those attending ICE another chance to add an exciting prize game to their establishment, giving players a twist on the traditional crane concept. Players manoeuvre the claw to grab a capsule which they hope will drop into the prize bin. From there, they must open the capsule to see if it contains a special key, which will unlock one of the doors and allow them access to a prize. Able to hold upwards of 500 egg capsules, the game features an all-metal cabinet with exterior LED lighting to attract players and can also be operated with a ticket redemption facility.

Also making the trip will be the popular Spinning Cyclone, a ball drop game in which the player scores points depending on which hole the ball falls into. Players can push the drop button one at a time for maximum precision, or hold the button down to create fast-paced and exciting action.

Finally, and a favourite of many from past ICE shows, Electrocoin will bring a number of the latest Stern Pinball tables over to the show for attendees to try out. These games often provide a fun break from the hustle and bustle of the show floor, with queues quite often forming to try out the latest tables. Stergides said that while they’re often a hit on the floor, the tables also sell well, with them able to fit into a number of different types of locations.
